Hi! My name is Amy and I would like to thank you for all that you do for this great nation of ours. It wouldn't be nearly the beacon of hope that it is if it were not for the freedoms we enjoy. My however-many great-grandfathers, Carter Braxton, signed the Declaration of Independence. Gave up almost everything he owned so that we could enjoy what we now take for granted because he, and all of our Forefathers, knew that tyranny wasn't something to be tolerated. I think that too many have forgotten that we had to *fight* for what we have. It didn't just come to us. It's been instilled in me that our armed forces are those we should be thankful for everyday for they are the ones who keep us safe. They willingly put themselves between us and those that wish us harm. It makes me proud to say I am an American, I am free, and it's all because of those who wear the uniforms of our great military. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you a joyous holiday season. I pray that you all stay safe and come home soon.
With deepest gratitude,
Amy
To America's Best~
My name is Christina and I want to take this opportunity to thank you and offer you my deepest respect for doing what you do. You see, I have four children ... that mean more to me than life itself ... and every morning that they get up ... grumpy, hungry, complaining that they have to go to school ... safe from Saddam and other terrorists, free of fear, smiling, laughing, happy ... I have incredibly brave men and women like yourselves to thank -- you and all of those that came before that put themselves out there to protect our future. We pray for your safety everyday and we will continue to lift up our voices ... for all of you ... until each soldier comes home.
Sending you love and season's greetings,

Hello; you brave men and women who fight to keep us all safe, I know that everyone of you would willingly give your lives to keep your families safe, but to keep people you'll don't know safe and even people who put you down safe. That is going beyond the call of duty. That is why you'll are so special. Every time I hear on the news that some of you precious people are killed in the line of duty it hurts and upsets me, that is why I joined with other Soldiers Angels to do anything possible for 1 of you or all of you. I know the Lord is looking out for you'll and is concerned about you'll, because HE is the one who opened the door for me to be an S.A. May GOD Bless each and every one of you, and hope and pray each and every one of you come home safe and soon.

To our finest citizens--the Military!
Christmas is Jesus' birthday, a time of love and sharing and great joy. A time, above all, for thankfulness! I want to thank you for all that you do to insure that I can say what I want, read what I want, do what I want whenever, wherever and with whomever. Thank you for protecting my right to try to raise my children to be as fine as you are. Thank you for maintaining my right to vote for whomever I please and speak my mind without fear of reprisal to myself or my family. Thank you for giving me this country where I can worship as I please, live free of oppression or censorship and do whatever I want within the law regardless of my race, religion, sex, creed or physical/mental ability.
Thank you for my life, my property, the safety of my children. I don't want to imagine what my life would be without you and the brave men and women before you. I pray daily that God blesses you and keeps you and your loved ones safely in His care. I wouldn't have the courage to do what you do on a daily basis for a nation of total strangers.
Have a blessed Christmas! Happy Chanukah! Joyous Kwanza! And most of all, charmed lives filled with a future of joy and personal fulfillment!

To all those in the military: I don't have anyone close to me serving in the military now, but my grandfather was in the cavalry in World War 1. I used to like to hear him talk about his horse, and look at his mementos. Of course he didn't talk much about it, and it was certainly edited for a little girl's ears. He has been gone now for 24 years, but being a part of this group helps me remember and appreciate a little bit of what he must have gone through. At this time I would like to thank all of you, and wish you all the very best both now and in the future.

You allow us to walk down the street waving an American flag, go to any place we please and be welcomed no matter the culture, race, or life we come from. In this holiday season may you be truly blessed and appreciated for all that you do. May God keep you safe and we'll see you home soon!

Dear Heroes-
Greetings from home!
Do you know how much we appreciate you? I hope you do. As I dash off to gather with family for the holidays (for me it's onto an airplane from Atlanta, GA to Seattle, WA), you are constantly on my mind and in my prayers. I see service people in uniform in the airports, and I hope that they're headed home, too, but I know in many cases that they are not. Like you, they will be a long way from home for the holidays.
Freedom is such a precious thing that is taken too much for granted. We'd be in a tough spot without people like you, who have dedicated and sacrificed so much for our freedoms and for new freedoms for strangers around the world. That's an incredible gift that we can never return in kind. All we can say is thank you, over, and over again. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and Merry Christmas!

This year, I have much to be thankful for. I live in a country where I am free to vote, to think and speak as I wish, to attain all that my efforts and education can bring me. I have met some amazing men and women this year, though few of them fact to face. They are the guardians of our liberty, the elite few who stand guard over us all. They are our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines. I am amazed that I am thanked for the little I do, for a few letters and packages, a few words of encouragement, by Heroes that place themselves on the line for me, for Heroes who will endure sacrifice and strife to protect our freedom, our safety, and, unfortunately sometimes, our right to criticize them.
My life has been enriched in ways I can’t explain through knowing all of you, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and of course Angels.
To all of you, our Heroes, the best of all that is American –
To Cisco, James, David, Michael, Don, Chris, Duane, Adam, Geoffrey, Stephen, Suzy, Ray, Griffen, Andrew, Josh and Shawn, and to the others it has been my honor to correspond with through the Letter Writing Team, Thank You, all my best for the holidays, and I hope that the New Year brings you swiftly and safely home.
To those I do not know by name, Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for your bravery, your dedication, your strength. Happy Holidays, take care, and stay safe.
And to Christian, the Cav Scout I am honored, humbled, and privileged to call a friend, thank you for the wonderful gift of being able to meet you, for the laughter and the honesty. You are a true Hero. I hope that I have been one fraction of the gift to your life that you have been to mine. May 2005 bring you safely home to your wife and daughter, and all of “your guys” safely home to their families. Merry Christmas.
