To Quote Bugs Bunny....

...What a maroon.

OK, so there's been this snarky little troll frequenting my comments section, who keeps referring to Obama as the President, and the other day said I should bow down and swear allegiance to him. He keeps throwing a rod when I remind him that Obama is not the President yet.

When I told him that:

1) AGAIN - Obama is the president-elect, not the President just yet; and

2) I wasn't aware that American civilians were required to swear allegiance to a President,

he posted what was quite possibly one of the most laughable comments I've had here. Too good not to share (my reply follows it).

OMG, you and people like you are truly sick, bitter and twisted. Obama is your President, legitimately voted for in the biggest turn out of any American Election. (they call it democracy, its what you guys claim to be fighting for in other parts of the world!)

Obama is commander in chief of the US armed forces (which you claim to be a supporter of!!). I think you should be arrested and charged with treason and crimes against the democratic will of the American people....TRAITOR!!!!!!!!!

No, you idiot, he isn't yet. Obama himself said that there is only one President at any given time, and HE ISN'T IT YET. Since you seem to ignore basic, rudimentary Constitutional facts, let me explain a couple of things.

1. FYI, The United States isn't a democracy - it's a representative republic. However, if by democracy you are referring to the "little d," implying free elections, then yes, democratic will elected him (we'll leave the questions of voter fraud out of it, since even though I think there was rampant voter fraud, I don't think it would have changed the outcome much).

2. The United States Constitution provides me with freedom of speech, which means that I can stand on a street corner and proclaim Obama to be the worst excuse for a President we've ever elected. Not that I would - there isn't enough information to judge at present. He's got to outdo Carter to be the worst, and that's quite an obstacle.

3. Obama is NOT the commander-in-chief or the President until he is sworn in, which happens in January. That's why his pretentious little podium sign says "Office of the President-ELECT." He is NOT the President yet. Please, call the feds and tell them I should be charged with treason for implying that my President is still my President, and that the President-elect doesn't become President until January 20th. Maybe then they'll take you somewhere you can get the help you so obviously need.

I also wasn't aware that there was a charge of "crimes against the democratic will of the American people," but hey, he obviously is a veritable font of knowledge...

Still, I don't think I'll lose any sleep waiting for them to show up with the arrest warrant.

Look, Folks - A Moonbat-Modified Gitmo on Wheels

From Fox News:

Amnesty International's Anti-Guantanamo Display Rouses Controversy

Thursday, June 26, 2008
By Cristina Corbin

NEW YORK — Amnesty International is currently touring the country with a life-sized replica of a maximum security prison cell at Guantánamo Bay. But critics say the cell, which is an attempt to call attention to alleged human rights abuses at the camp, is missing basic amenities provided to prisoners.

The 7x10-foot cell, on display on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., lacks amenities like bedding, toiletries and a copy of the Koran, and it has nothing to illustrate that regular meals are served to inmates three times a day.

Amnesty International-USA said the cell, which contains a toilet, sleeping bunk and a small window, is meant to symbolize the U.S. government's alleged mistreatment of detainees at the prison.

It said the tour is designed to increase public awareness and mount pressure on the Bush administration and Congress to close down the U.S.-controlled detention center. The group planned its display in Washington to coincide with a House Judiciary subcommittee's hearing on harsh interrogation techniques.

But Charles "Cully" Stimson, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Detainee Affairs, lashed out against Amnesty's campaign, calling it a "complete fraud in misrepresenting the condition of detention at Gitmo today."

Barack Obama Has the Sixth Sense - Who Knew?

Barack Obama is apparently ready to tell us his secret.

He sees dead people:

"On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today -- our sense of patriotism is particularly strong."

{CHORTLE}

Sorry. Couldn't help it.

It's worth noting that his gaffe is conveniently absent from the speech posted on his website. Those are just the prepared remarks, and who prepares to sound like an idiot?

Want to watch the clip? Here you go:

There is much liberal excuse-making for the gaffe, including the ever-popular 'he's just tired,' and a little tossing around of possible 'videoshopping.'

Wonder if a Republican would get the same latitude?

Doubt it.

On the good side, though, B-HO's vision of dead Heroes in the audience doesn't make him nearly as big a dumb@$$ as Jimmy Carter.

So he's got that going for him.

Predictably, though, the media's only focus this morning is Hillary's 'assassination' comment. Tasteless, maybe. But if the MSM hadn't dumped her for he-whose-middle-name-shall-not-be-mentioned, something tells me you wouldn't have heard about the remark at all.

Well, at least while this country is politically swirling around the bowl, we've got plenty to laugh at.

UPDATE:
Obama's got some issues with history, too - he recently told a story of his uncle liberating Auschwitz with U.S. forces. Problem is that the Soviets liberated Auschwitz.

I could allow for the fact that he just misstated the camp name...if he hadn't told the same story some time ago. Only this time, it was that the relative (who he alternately names as his uncle or his grandfather) heard the tales from the troops who had liberated Treblinka and Auschwitz, not that he'd been there.

And if you check out the link above in this update, you'll find out that Barack's mother was an only child. Apparently, his great-uncle was in the service, so maybe that's it. But that still doesn't fix the grandfather reference. And if his great-uncle and his grandfather are the same person, well, I just don't even want to go there.

Of course, there's also the possibility that he's just outright lying, and that next week, his great uncle will have - a la Dr.Evil's father - invented the question mark.

Somebody ought to get me some sort of flow chart to follow this one.

UPDATE #2: Obama has now apologized for his error. Seems the deal is that it's the great-uncle and Buchenwald.

Anyone for the great-grandfather's uncle and Buchenwitz?

And People Wonder Why I Think Jimmy Carter's a Tool

Oh, I dunno - maybe it's because of things like this:

Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.
The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Carter was planning a trip to Syria for mid-April, during which he would meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, on April 18.
Deanna Congileo, Carter’s press secretary, confirmed in an e-mail to FOXNews.com that Carter will be in the Mideast in April. Pressed for comment, Congileo did not deny that the former president is considering visiting Meshal.
Carter's not just the battiest Moonbat there is, he's also the most pathetic excuse for a president this country's ever seen - and the way I see it, a traitor to boot.

Here's hoping he buys a one-way plane ticket when he heads over to talk with his terrorist buddies.

No, They're Not Anti-Troop....

Gotta love it. Everytime I put up a post about how the antiwar crowd is almost universally anti-troop, some knucklehead comes by and puffs about how I'm doing a disservice to them, how they really do care about the troops, they just don't want to see them "die for oil" or some other cliche antiwar line.

And it never fails - wait a little while, and they always prove me right.

Sadly, but predictably, they've done it again, at Milwaukee's Army Recruiting Center:

All the windows of the station were busted out, and graffiti that read “War is Offensive” was scrawled on the side of the building. A witness told WTMJ that he saw anti-war slogans written on the windows before they were broken.
Still, I can't help but chuckle. "War is offensive" is the best thing you could come up with? And you write your slogans on the windows - and then break them. Brilliant.

These particular non-violent, peace-loving, 'why can't we all just get along' types have been to this Recruiting Station before - throwing smoke bombs and paint. How peaceful. One of their sentimental, happy, peace-love-joy messages this time? "Expect Resistance."

Some days, I really wish these losers could be on the receiving end when our troops show them what the word "offensive" means in military circles.

Nah, they're not anti-troop. Of course not.

I may be a "Macchiavellian Warmonger" (and proud of it, thank you very much), but at least I don't hide what I believe. I am pro-military, pro-America, pro-kicking-enemy-tail, and decidedly anti-hippie-coward.

As far as that "Expect Resistance" thing goes? Right back at you, peacenik - never again will you derail the public opinion. Recycle all the 40-year-old crap you want, but when you meet those of us who understand what we owe our Heroes, Expect Resistance.

B**** on the Bench

Another jaw-dropper from the anti-war crowd:

A California judge rejected a foster teen's request for early enlistment with the Marine Corps — and a $10,000 signing bonus — reportedly on the grounds that the judge didn't approve of the Iraq war.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Marilyn Mackel denied 17-year-old Shawn Sage's request to join the military last October, according to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News.

"The judge said she didn't support the Iraq war for any reason we're over there," Marine recruiter Sgt. Guillermo Medrano of the Simi Valley U.S. Marine Corps recruiting office told the paper.
This woman SO needs to be removed from the bench. Seriously. Granted, there may be good reasons to deny a 17-year old enlistment, but "I'm an anti-war moron who uses my position to advance my moonbat agenda" isn't one of them.

Now, I know what you're thinking. What a brave soul - to take a stand and use her twisted little pea-brain free-thinking mind to divert the purpose of the court take a stand. How can I thank her?

Well, I've got the answer for you!

To let her know what you think of her decision to completely toss out her responsibilities as a judge, you can contact her at:

Mail:
Marilyn Mackel, Commissioner
Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court (Dependency)
201 Centre Plaza Drive
Monterey Park, CA 91754

Phone:
(323) 526-6402

Didn't see an email directory, but if someone finds one, please leave it in the comments section.

Be sure to restrain yourselves, folks - I seem to remember threatening or otherwise harrassing a judge is bad ju-ju -- even if they don't have any respect for the sanctity of their position.

Oh, and in California, the Commission on Judicial Performance has the responsibility of "investigating complaints of judicial misconduct and judicial incapacity and for disciplining state judges."

Their abilities include taking action by:

Removing or censuring a judge or former judge for "action that constitutes willful misconduct in office, persistent failure or inability to perform the judge's duties, habitual intemperance in the use of intoxicants or drugs, or conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice that brings the judicial office into disrepute";

Publicly or privately "admonishing a judge or former judge found to have engaged in improper action or dereliction of duty"; and

They can bar censured judges from future positions in any CA state court.

Sounds good to me. You can contact them at:

Make Incendiary Devices, Not War

The more acceptance there is for the anti-war idiots (or apathy, for that matter), the more likely it is that these things are going to happen:

Explosion Hits Military Recruiting Station at New York's Times Square

NEW YORK — An explosive device caused minor damage to an empty military recruiting station in Times Square early Thursday, shaking guests in hotel rooms high above.

Police blocked off the area to investigate the explosion, which occurred at about 3:45 a.m., shattering the station's glass entryway. No one was injured.

"If it is something that's directed toward American troops than it's something that's taken very seriously and is pretty unfortunate," said Army Capt. Charlie Jaquillard, who is the commander of Army recruiting in Manhattan.

More here.

Although this one was minor, and no one was hurt, that is not the way these things always go. The anti-war movement has a history of violence. It's all peace, love, and happiness - if you agree with them. If not, look out.

Take, for instance, these lovely little bits of joy you may not have heard about:

-- Molotov cocktails in Chicago on March 20, 2003

-- Multiple instances at a March, 21, 2003 anarchist anti-war rally in Athens, and again on April 16, 2003

-- The cache of molotov cocktails left by anti-war protesters after a rally in San Francisco in 2003

-- Multiple instances in the NYC area in 2005

-- Generally being idiots and trying to pry open a fence at the Port of Olympia in 2006

-- A four-on-one sneak attack and assault on an OEF Hero in Canada in 2007

Again and again they prove that they're twisted little cowards. Take a good look at the anti-war movement, and you'll soon find out that hidden beneath that "Give Peace a Chance" crap is a socialist / communist agenda, and a potential for deadly violence if you don't agree with them.

Bottomfeeders, all.

UPDATE:

David, at the Thunder Run, is asking (rhetorically) if the Moonbats have gone too far :

And while a spokesperson for Homeland Security wouldn’t comment on whether this explosion was related to terrorism the act in itself was a terror attack…an attack in my opinion against those very people who defend us against terror, the U.S. Military.

The left is already in a tizzy over the event worried that it’s going to cause a backlash against them...
And Ron Winter wonders what they may do next:
Considering that Code Pink's infiltration of the Berkeley City Council has resulted in unprecedented official support for its attacks on the US Marine recruiting station in that city, and IVAW is mimicking Kerry like an aged shadow, it is worth questioning whether more vicious attacks on members of our government are in the planning stages.

Fire Ignites 'Street of Dreams' Home Development; ELF Sign Left at Scene

It appears that eco-terrorism has hit Seattle:

Crews battled fires early Monday at four multimillion-dollar show homes in a suburb north of Seattle, and a sign with the initials of a radical environmental group was found at the scene, an official said.
The sign, which had the initials of the Earth Liberation Front, mocked claims the luxury homes on the "Street of Dreams" were environmentally friendly, according to video images of the sign aired by KING-TV.
"Built Green? Nope black!" the sign said.
The homes were new, and unoccupied, so fortunately it looks like no one has been hurt or worse. The rest of the story is here.

I have a few questions:

1. ELF? You pick as your name something that ends up with ELF as its moniker? Yeah, that'll show you're serious. Then again, I suppose it beats Society of American Nutcase Torchmonkey Afficionados (SANTA)...

2. Did anyone but me see "Earth Liberation Front" and think of this scene from Monty Python's "Life of Brian"?

3. How exactly do you strike a blow for the Earth by burning homes, spewing noxious fumes into the air and ensuring that firefighters are going to have to pour a whole lot of water and/or chemicals on the fire?

Voici la Moonbatte

You know, I've begun to expect nearly anything from the far Left these days. Take this recent gem from Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, for instance:

Referring to the two passenger jets flown into the World Trade Centre, Miss Cotillard said: "We see other towers of the same kind being hit by planes, are they burned? There was a tower, I believe it was in Spain, which burned for 24 hours. It never collapsed. None of these towers collapsed. And there [New York], in a few minutes, the whole thing collapsed."
Miss Cotillard suggested that the towers, planned in the early 1960s, were an outdated "money sucker" which would have cost so much to modernise that it was easier to destroy them.

So let me get this straight; It was cheaper to...

- Fly two passenger liners into the Towers, (killing the passengers and a couple of thousand firefighters, policemen, and others trapped in the buildings); and

- Fly one into the Pentagon; and

- Fly one straight into the ground in Pennsylvania, (killing hundreds more); and

- Operate a costly rescue and recovery operation in Washington and New York; and

- Deal with all of the debris and reconstruction that followed; and

- Deal with the economic impact of this all, etc., etc., etc.

... than it was to rehab or demolish the Towers?? What exactly are they smoking in France?

Good news for her is that the 9/11 insanity makes this theory sound sane:

Turning to America’s space programme, she said: "Did a man really walk on the moon? I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered. And in any case I don’t believe all they tell me, that’s for sure."

Ohhhhhhh, so that's why we call them "Moon" bats!

She may have some competition, though - feminazi Gloria Steinem waltzed right over the lines of decency bashing McCain recently:

“Suppose John McCain had been Joan McCain and Joan McCain had got captured, shot down and been a POW for eight years. [The media would ask], ‘What did you do wrong to get captured? What terrible things did you do while you were there as a captive for eight years?’” Steinem said, to laughter from the audience.

McCain was, in fact, a prisoner of war for around five-and-a-half years, during which time he was tortured repeatedly. Referring to his time in captivity, Steinem said with bewilderment, “I mean, hello? This is supposed to be a qualification to be president? I don’t think so.”…

Take heart, though - Steinem reminds us that:

“I am so grateful that she [Clinton] hasn’t been trained to kill anybody. And she probably didn’t even play war games as a kid. It’s a great relief from Bush in his jump suit and from Kerry saluting.”

The scary thing is, there are people who actually admire these two.

And the award for battiest 'Bat goes to.....

Repent, The End is Nigh!

Signs of the Apocalypse:

False Messiah:
And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.For many will come in My name, saying, "I am the Christ," and will deceive many.

Hmmm...

Wars / Rumors of Wars:
And you will hear wars and rumors of wars.
See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will raise against nation, and Kingdom against kingdom.

OK, this is bad.

Natural Disasters:
And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

This is worse.

Angelina Jolie:
"When I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq," she wrote. "They have lost many friends and want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible."

Aw, crap. Truly, we are in the end times.

Seriously, when even hollywood-types say that things are working in Iraq, how good do you think they really are? And what happens to all that gain if we hand this country over to the Left in November?

My Two Cents: I've Said It Before; I'll Say It Again.

Life is finally starting to get back to some semblance of normal for me after my husband's injury this past August (no, not in combat - we're civilians. Although my puppy did attack him once he fell, so maybe that counts as some sort of combat...). Or at least, to the new normal.

I haven't been inspired - and haven't had the energy - to really rant in a while. Wouldn't you know it would be the scum of the earth - one step above the terrorists - that prompted me to do so again?

I've been criticized in the past for saying that the anti-war crowd almost invariably turns anti-troop. They'll tell you they're not.

Even when they do this, and this, and this, and this, and this.....and the list goes on.

Still, they'll tell you they're not anti-troop. And as it was forty years ago, and sixty years ago, and in every conflict where they've decided to slither in, it's a lie.

And now, once again, they're at it in D.C.

I had warned in one of my rants that if we weren't careful, the openly anti-troop crowd would take advantage of the war's waning popularity, and the weakening of American resolve, to do the things they never would have dared do in those first few months after 9/11.

We are at a critical, and very dangerous time in this war - and in this country. If we do not as a country stand up - right now - and say that our heroes are NOT to be maligned, or thrown out of town, or told that their exercises will scare people, or asked not to attend things in uniform, we are going to be right back where we were.

If you want a parallel to Viet Nam, this is it - the idiots. The wretched creatures who dare crawl out from under their slime-coated rocks to dare and attack those who give them the right to spill their worthless drivel.

It. Is. Not. Acceptable. Ever.

Not in Berkeley, not in D.C., and not in a tiny town in CT where they darken a town green every Sunday. Well, at least unless the weather is less than sunny. Lord knows they don't want to be out there if it's inconvenient.

Not in this war, not in any other war. Not at a school, not in some wildly Left-wing town. No, it shouldn't be illegal to be an idiot; I'm not saying the government should stop them. But we do not have to accept unacceptable behavior. WE should stop them. And it's easy. Simply stop accepting the behavior. Confront it - walk up and tell them they should be ashamed of themselves. Stand on the opposite corner with a sign that thanks the troops. Rev motorcycle engines so loud you drown out the idiots. I'm not saying you get violent. They do enough of that. I'm just saying do something. Don't just shake your head as you go by. Our troops are willing to be sent anywhere, to do anything they are asked - to die to protect our freedom. And dammit, we owe them better than letting these idiots operate without consequence.

There are two types of comments I remove from this blog. One is spam. The other is a comment that trashes our troops. You can argue against the war. You can argue against my viewpoint. Not a problem. But trash the troops, and I'm likely to either use your comment as an example of profound stupidity (in which case you and your insipid little friends will send me stupid emails and spam trackbacks), or I'm going to delete your lame little comment.

'Cause it's my blog, and I can. And I will.

I promised a long time ago that I would not allow it in my little corner of the world. And every moonbat that decides to mouth off about the Army flag in my window, or the POW flag on my garage door, or a post on this blog gets a full-on dose of one pissed off Soldiers' Angel.

And anyone who doesn't stand up and say that it's not acceptable to trash our troops is worse than the anti-war scum. They're idiots. But at least they care about their idiocy. If you can't muster up the energy to even give a crap, that's worse.

There is NO EXCUSE for another generation of Heroes to think they have to be ashamed of their service. There is NO EXCUSE for allowing these people to have free rein. They're cowards. They're hypocrites (their 'peace' rallies often turning violent). And they are wrong.

For me, two words come to mind when I think of our troops. Thank You.

I've got two words for the anti-troop bottom feeders too. The second one is also "You."

The first one, I'll let you figure out for yourself. It sure as heck ain't "Thank."

At the Soldiers' Angels conference this morning, Chuck asked for a bulldozer and directions to Berkeley.

I say we give them to him.

Help Draw the Line in California

If you are in the Twentynine Palms, CA area, there are some folks that are looking for you to help them stand up to support our flag, our country, and the memory of 9/11 victims.

At a bipartisan 9/11 event at San Francisco State University, one designed to rise above politics, and simply honor the victims of that horrific day, a group of lunatics decided to hurl epithets and insults, defile our flag, and generally prove themselves to be complete pieces of garbage. The moonbats never cease to amaze me with how low they will go.

Nice, eh?

And as if that wasn't enough, now the Mega-Moonbat featured in that video is headed to lecture in - of all places - Twentynine Palms, CA. Klasky is a featured player in that video - he's a "SFSU Professor, Political Activist, Lecturer on Guerrilla Theater and Civil Disobedience"

But his vomit-inducing presence is not going to go unanswered.

Yep, you've got a right to free speech - meaning that the government can't throw you in jail simply because you're a disgusting, communist, radical megalomaniac who obviously has deep seated psychological issues you feel you need to burden the ears of the sane with.

Doesn't mean you have a right to do it without some more worthy folks exercising their rights. Freedom of speech doesn't mean a required audience. Just because you have a right to say it, it doesn't mean other folks don't have a right to tell you that what you're doing is despicable.

There are some real good eggs over at Cactus Thorns who are standing up to say that Klasky's loathsome behavior is unacceptable.

Help these good people stand up and say that the despicable behavior of self-stated Communists and America-hating moonbats is NOT acceptable.

Get more details on the protest, including directions, here.

Check out tons more on Klasky and his moonbat minions (with more videos) here:

Please be there if you can.

UPDATE 12/16: Dan O. says the rally went off without a hitch, with a couple dozen "brave souls" coming out in the cold to make sure that Klasky didn't come unanswered.

Thanks to all of you who helped to make this rally a success.

Global Warming: Is Al Gore's Glass Half Full, Or Just Cracked?

Al Gore gets his Nobel Prize today (the thought makes me nauseous), for his shameless promotion of the global warming insanity.

Ron Winter has a few thoughts on the subject:

On Monday former US Vice President Al Gore, who served under Bill Clinton and lost the 2000 election because his home state of Tennessee, and Clinton's home state, Arkansas, didn't vote for him, will receive a Nobel Prize for warning the world about Global Warming.

Included in his efforts to play a sort of environmental Paul Revere, Gore produced a mocumentary - yes I know I used an 'm' not a 'd' - called An Inconvenient Truth, that to put it nicely has been found to be inconveniently and horribly inaccurate.

Gore's effort at using film for propaganda is so flawed, that in Great Britain, High Court Judge Michael Burton ruled, in response to a lawsuit by a parent, that showing the film in schools violates a law that bans promoting partisan political views in the classroom...

Liberals Unchained - Evil Abetted

Y'know, I love the Dilbert cartoons. I really do.

But I can't say I'm all that fond of some of the other "creative" works to come out of Scott Adams' mind.

This little gem, for instance.

To compare Ahmedinejad's insane rants to the freedom of speech that our Heroes fight for, and to imply that he is entitled to the rights of this country, is plain offensive.

One has to wonder how Liberals can justify a warm welcome for a man who today said that Iran "doesn't have" homosexuals. Well, not for long, anyway, since Iran executes them.

And how, exactly, do the former champions of "free love" justify execution for adultery? Oh, wait, but that's only for women. Hmmmm....weren't these the champions of womens' rights, too?

Sometimes, wrong is just wrong. And more often than not, when you find "wrong," you'll find the liberals championing the cause.

Ahmedinejad is a lunatic, an anti-semite, a condoner of terrorism, and a murderer of our troops. Possibly, he's also one of the embassy hostage takers (denied by authorities, but some of the former hostages are pretty sure).

To invite him to speak is - gasp, yes, I'm going to say it - unpatriotic.

Scratch that - it's traitorous.

The only guest speaking this lunatic should be doing is to the rats in some festering cell.

Or better yet, to the other inhabitants of the 9th circle of Hell, where he belongs.

Buh-Bye...

'Little Eichmanns' Professor Axed
BOULDER, Colo. — The University of Colorado's governing board on Tuesday fired a professor whose essay likening some Sept. 11 victims to a Nazi leader provoked national outrage and led to an investigation of research misconduct.

Ward Churchill, who had vowed to sue if the Board of Regents took action against him, said immediately after the 8-1 vote was announced: "New game, new game."

Three faculty committees had accused Churchill of plagiarism, falsification and other misconduct. The research allegations stem from some of Churchill's other writings, although the investigation began after the controversy over his Sept. 11 essay. [...]

I'm not a particular fan of our governor here, and CT's normally far too liberal for comfort, but I have to give credit where credit is due.

This week, they did it right. Fast-tracking a bill in advance of the Westboro lunatics' expected arrival to protest Army 1st Lt. Keith Heidtman's funeral on Friday, the CT legislature, and the Governor, took a stand to support military families:

Rell signs bill to immediately curb protests at soldier's funeral
Posted June 6, 2007

(Hartford-AP) - It's now law. Governor Rell has signed a fast-tracked bill that limits protests at funerals. She and state lawmakers wanted to have the law in place for a military service planned for Friday in Norwich. The bill takes effect immediately...

Mother Moonbat Packs It In?

Cindy Sheehan is reportedly calling it quits...

"This is my resignation letter as the 'face' of the American anti-war movement," Sheehan wrote. "I am going to take whatever I have left and go home. I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children and try to regain some of what I have lost."
In her letter, posted at the uber-liberal blog Daily Kos, Sheehan says that her relationship with her husband dissolved, her relationship with her children is 'strained,' and she's broke.

Poor baby. And of course, none of that is her fault...

"I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party. Of course, I was slandered and libeled by the right as a 'tool' of the Democratic Party." Sheehan wrote. "However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the 'left' started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used."
If you can stomach it, you can read the rest here.

So long, Cindy - don't let the door hit you in the keester on the way out.

He Lied, Now He'll Be Tried...

Ah....it's a beautiful day when a lying sack of moonbat guano gets his comeuppance:

SEATTLE — A man who tried to position himself as a leader of the anti-war movement by claiming to have participated in war crimes while serving in Iraq is facing federal charges of falsifying his record.

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, formerly of Phoenix, garnered attention on blogs and in some alternative media after he began claiming in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which he said included slaughtering innocents in a Fallujah mosque. His story was contradicted by his discharge form, showing that he was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his “entry level performance and conduct.”
MacBeth was the darling of anti-war groups like IVAW, and made such lovely accusations as this gem:

“We would burn their bodies ... hang their bodies from the rafters in the mosque,”
IVAW, to their credit, removed his claims when it was 'discovered' they were false. Of course, Michelle Malkin, milbloggers, and most people with a grip knew he was lying his keester off from the get-go...

So, appropriately enough, now everyone knows that MacBeths' load of rot was "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Macbeth (Act V, Scene V).

And more than likely, it's on to the next complete liar for the anti-war crowd.

Wonder what John Kerry's doing these days?
