MANILA, Philippines (June 18, 2007) - Pacific Partnership Mission Commander, Capt. Bruce Stewart and the Honorable Kristie A. Kenney, United States Ambassador to the Philippines, present Project Handclasp donations to the Honorable Esperanza Cabral, Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Project Handclasp, a CNO-directed goodwill program, is a part of Pacific Partnership deployment of amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5). The four-month humanitarian assistance mission to Southeast Asia and Oceania includes specialized medical care and various construction and engineering projects.
