San Diego (Dec. 24, 2006) - A proud father and Sailor from the destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) holds his child for the first time following his return from deployment. USS Halsey with attached Helicopter Anti-submarine Squadron Light 45 (HSL-45), Detachment 47, returned to Naval Base San Diego on Dec. 24. During the ship's maiden deployment, Halsey conducted sustained Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO) in the Sulu and Celebes Seas in support of the Global War on Terrorism. U.S. Navy photo by Cdr.
