IN THE PERSIAN GULF — U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Daniel Bobo, a machinist's mate from Batavia, N.Y., shifts the air ejectors in the forward main machinery room aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima in the Persian Gulf, Oct. 12, 2006. The Iwo Jima, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is on a scheduled deployment to the U.S. European Command and U.S. Central Command areas of responsibility to conduct maritime security operations.
