South China Sea (Aug. 30, 2006) - Sailors aboard the Military Sealift Command (MSC) underway replenishment ship USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) refuel and re-supply the conventionally-powered aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) and the guided-missile destroyer USS Lassen (DDG 82). Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier.
