Persian Gulf (Sept. 16, 2006) - Landing Craft Utility One Six Five Six (LCU 1656) assigned to Assault Craft Unit Two (ACU-2) approaches Landing Craft Utility One Six Five Eight (LCU 1658) during a sterngate maneuvering exercise. ACU-2 is currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2). Saipan is on deployment in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations (MSO).
