Beirut, Lebanon (July 19, 2006) - U.S. Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit prepare U.S. citizens to be loaded onto a Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter heading to Cyprus following their departure from Beirut, Lebanon. At the request of the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon and at the direction of the Secretary of Defense, the United States Central Command and the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24 MEU) are assisting with the departure of U.S. citizens from Lebanon.
