Pilot burial solves two mysteries
Family members of 2nd Lt. Robert Hoyle Upchurch attend a memorial service Saturday, April 8, 2006 in High Falls, N.C. He was killed when his P-40 Warhawk crashed in China in 1944 during bad weather. Lieutenant Upchurch was a member of the famed Flying Tigers during World War II and was listed as missing in action until his remains were identified last May by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command.
