A Successful Partnership Between a Profit and a Non-Profit Company

A Successful Partnership Between a Profit and a Non-Profit Company: Minimus.biz Expands Relationship With Soldiers’ Angels

Unique relationship between the for-profit Minimus.biz and the non-profit Soldiers' Angels allows for a win-win situation for both organizations. Soldiers' Angels has a low-cost reliable source of goods they would have had to get at higher prices from multiple sources, and Minimus.biz is able to service a valuable and worthy customer.

Newbury Park, CA (PRWEB) March 10, 2005 -- In October of last year, the for-profit company Minimus.biz, the world’s first store exclusively offering travel size items, partnered with the non-profit company Soldiers’ Angels, an organization whose members ‘adopt’ military personnel overseas, to create a line of care packages that could be sent to their donees. Recently, this partnership expanded to include Minimus.biz warehousing and providing fulfillment services for the items sold on the Soldiers’ Angels website.

This unique partnership led to a recent internet radio interview focusing on the partnership as well as perking up some heads in the philanthropic community. Minimus.biz co-owner and vice-president of marketing, Paul Shrater, notes, “I am really glad our two organizations found each other. Since we have a store where we offer each product individually, our care packages that are comprised of these products don’t carry the significant markups that a gift basket company might charge. And, the ones we created for the soldiers don’t include the costs of filler material and fancy packaging that a soldier doesn’t care about.”

This win-win situation has thrived over the past months. Minimus.biz is able to make a small profit, and the non-profit Soldiers’ Angels organization is able to have a steady and reliable source for the exact goods they need to send to their soldier donees. Many non-profits receive donations of goods that are unreliable and don’t cover all of the items the organization might require, and in situations where they receive cash donations, it is important to have the money put to use at its full potential.

Soldiers’ Angels is excited by this newfound partnership. Dianne Moore, the ‘angel’ who initiated contact between the organizations recently wrote into the new Minimus.biz blog, “While it might sound strange, the 1st soldier I sent a cornucopia of condiments to, wrote back in response to receiving his package by telling me it was the best care package he'd ever gotten! He said he'd never been so happy to see little foil packets of barbeque sauce, chopped onions, and apple jelly in his life!”

A great side benefit for the angels of Soldiers’ Angels is that Minimus.biz offers, for orders over $20, free shipping directly to the military post offices in the United States that then forwards to the soldiers overseas.
