Quote of the Day
"From the time I was twelve years old until I retired last year at the age of fifty-seven, the Army was my life. I loved commanding soldiers and being around people who had made a serious commitment to serve their country."

'Gold Star' Confusion

Why is this Headline News?
Bush Teleconference With Soldiers in Iraq Was Staged- Video: Meeting Rehearsed
(I really don't see why this is huge news. A rehearsal and some structure for an event like this doesn't strike me as odd. If there had been technical problems, we'd have seen "Bush Teleconference a disaster." And the headline is misleading. 'Staged' implies that the whole thing was fake - that the conversation never happened. I've seen 'choreographed' in other sources, which is closer to the truth, but still! Shame on you, Fox, for jumping on this bandwagon)
