Gulf of Mexico (Sept. 13, 2005) - Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) aboard a Landing Craft Utility (LCU) participate in a stern gate marriage evolution as part of the volunteer efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operations are being led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
