Airman receives medal for water rescue

General Jumper presented an Airman's Medal to Sergeant Downy here Aug. 31. Sergeant Downey was awarded the medal for exemplary courage and heroism on Oct. 17, 2003, when he swam to a vehicle that crashed into a canal and freed an 89-year-old driver who was trapped inside a vehicle.
