General William C. Westmoreland commanded U.S. troops in Vietnam. He passed away last night at the age of 91. His death was due to natural causes.Although a great deal about his decisions during that war has been hotly debatable, his post-war involvement with Veterans activities stands. He retired from active duty in the Army in 1972, but regularly lectured at Veterans activities, and led the procession that dedicated the Vietnam War Memorial (The Wall) in Washington, D.C. in 1982.
Our condolences to his family and friends.
