Marine's K-9 honored: 'One of their own'

Since World War II, dogs have played a significant part in American military operations. There are over 2,000 dogs currently working with the military. Hundreds are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thanks to Seamus for the tip on an article about a fallen furry Marine, and how his human brothers honored him.

To read it, go here.

To find out more about our furry heroes, check out the United States War Dog Association. They have some fantastic photos, as well as a petition you can sign to push for a War Dog stamp.

We mourn our fallen furry Marine hero, and send our condolences to his handler.
